A military outpost operated by the Shanni National Army (SNA), a group affiliated with the military council, was attacked in Banmauk Township, Sagaing Region. According to a responsible official from the Katha District Battalion 4, the attack resulted in at least three casualties on the military side and the seizure of one weapon. The incident occurred near Myit Sae Chin village in Banmauk Township, where the SNA had established an outpost as part of their territorial expansion efforts.
The attack took place on July 14, when forces from Katha District Battalion 4 (K-4) launched an offensive against the SNA outpost. During the engagement, at least three members of the military-affiliated forces were killed, and the resistance forces captured one G-3 rifle. The operation was described as part of ongoing efforts to clear the area of military council-affiliated forces. One resistance fighter also made the ultimate sacrifice for the country and its people during the battle.
The official from Katha District Battalion 4 confirmed that they will continue their operations to secure the area and protect the rights and safety of local civilians. The military council and its affiliated groups have been consistently attempting to expand their territorial control in the region while oppressing local populations. The attack on the SNA outpost represents ongoing resistance efforts against the military council’s attempts to establish control through its affiliated armed groups in various parts of the country.
