
On March 16 at approximately 6:00 AM, an incident occurred at the Pathein City Police Station in Ayeyarwady Region when a man armed with two pairs of scissors entered the premises and launched an attack. The incident resulted in injuries to four police personnel, including Police Station Commander Kyaw Zay Latt. According to local sources, the attacker was identified as a resident from Ngapudaw Township. The assailant entered the police station compound suddenly and began attacking anyone he encountered with the scissors.
During the incident, police officers on duty attempted to subdue the attacker but were unsuccessful initially, ultimately resorting to using firearms to apprehend him. The suspect was shot in the thigh during the arrest operation. Following his capture, police officers reportedly beat the suspect during the arrest, and as a result of the combined injuries from the gunshot wound and the beating, he is now in critical condition with his life reportedly at risk.
