The Anya Pit Taing Thaung Lei Group has donated meals on behalf of a donor to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in three camps within Salingyi Township, who have been forced to flee their homes due to military council offensives. The donation was carried out by visiting three separate IDP camps, with the aim of providing whatever assistance possible to help address the food security challenges faced by displaced civilians.
Thousands of internally displaced persons are currently seeking shelter in IDP camps throughout Salingyi Township, facing significant daily challenges in meeting their basic needs for food and survival. Local residents have been forced to abandon their homes and villages due to the military council forces’ heavy artillery attacks and village burnings. These food donations provide crucial support for the day-to-day survival of the displaced populations who are struggling to sustain themselves after being driven from their homes and livelihoods.
When delivering donations to the IDP camps, the Anya Pit Taing Thaung Lei Group had to carefully consider security conditions and remain vigilant about military council troop movements in the area. Despite the challenges and risks involved in providing humanitarian assistance to displaced civilians, people continue to support one another with empathy and solidarity, offering whatever aid they can manage to help those in need. These civilian-to-civilian support networks have become essential lifelines for communities impacted by the ongoing conflict.
