The Anya Pit Taing Htaung Lay Group has donated a meal on behalf of a donor to an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Sarlinkyi Township, where civilians have been forced to flee their homes due to military council offensives. The displaced people sheltering in the camp have been facing significant challenges with their daily sustenance, having been away from their homes for an extended period. In particular, civilians who had to flee their homes due to the military council’s airstrikes and heavy artillery attacks are facing major challenges in meeting their daily food and living requirements.
The Anya Pit Taing Htaung Lay Group visited the IDP camp and provided enough food for one meal to cover all family members taking shelter there. Special consideration was given to children, elderly persons, and women in the camp, with the donation including rice and cooking ingredients. Such donations provide crucial support to the displaced civilians and help alleviate their daily burden of securing food and basic necessities.
The civilians staying in IDP camps are unable to return to their homes due to ongoing security concerns and continue to seek refuge in these camps. Due to military council offensives and the burning of villages, people cannot safely return to their homes and still face life-threatening situations. Therefore, support from social organizations and donors remains vital assistance for these internally displaced people. The continued military operations and destruction of civilian properties have created a situation where immediate return to their homes is impossible, making humanitarian assistance from civil society organizations and donors an essential lifeline for their survival.
