A protest against the military coup in Myanmar was held in Ulsan, South Korea. During the protest, a donation of 30 million Korean Won (approximately 90 million Myanmar Kyat) was made to revolutionary activist Sayadaw U Dagu to support internally displaced people from Myanmar. The protest demonstrated solidarity with Myanmar civilians who are suffering under military rule.
Sayadaw U Dagu stated that the donated funds would be transparently distributed to Myanmar citizens without discrimination based on religion or ethnicity. He emphasized that protecting one’s country and its people is equivalent to protecting oneself. He urged everyone to contribute in whatever way possible until Myanmar is freed from the military dictatorship system.
The protesters aimed to raise international awareness about human rights violations occurring in Myanmar since the military coup and highlight the challenges faced by refugees and displaced persons. They carried signs and posters opposing the military dictatorship, showing solidarity with the people of Myanmar. The demonstration served as a platform to draw attention to the ongoing crisis and appeal for increased international focus on Myanmar’s situation.
