
On March 2, revolutionary civilians and members of the Shwebo Township Strike Force jointly organized an anti-military dictatorship protest march in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the revolution. Local residents, youth, students, and members of various strike forces participated in the protest march, expressing their demands for the complete end of the military dictatorship, the establishment of a federal democratic system, and the restoration of people’s power.
Protesters carried signs and posters opposing the military dictatorship system while marching peacefully through the township. They also chanted slogans encouraging public unity and participation in the revolution’s success. The protest march demonstrates that even after four years since the military coup, the revolutionary spirit of the people remains undiminished as they continue their struggle against the military regime.
Shwebo Township has been an active center of anti-military dictatorship movements, consistently organizing public protests and civil disobedience activities since the beginning of the military coup. Despite the military council’s oppression and threats, local residents continue to bravely fight for democracy, making sacrifices for the cause. The protest march serves as a testament to the unwavering determination of the people in their struggle against military rule and their commitment to achieving genuine federal democracy in Myanmar.
