During the demonstration, local residents demanded opposition to the military dictatorship, democracy, human rights, and peace. The strike column marched through the streets alongside local civilians, carrying anti-dictatorship signboards and flags as they protested.
The northern area of Yinmabin Township has been a region of strong anti-military dictatorship activism since the military coup. Local residents have been facing oppression, human rights violations, arbitrary arrests, and violence under the military regime. However, the people continue to fight against the military dictatorship without fear. Today’s protest demonstrated the collective resistance of the people against the military dictatorship system.
Together with the strike column, local residents chanted anti-military dictatorship slogans loudly, demanding the immediate fall of the military dictatorship, the release of political prisoners, and the achievement of justice and freedom. Participants in the protest demonstrated peacefully and in unity, and they have committed to continuing their anti-military dictatorship activities. The protest highlighted the ongoing resistance movement in the region and the people’s determination to oppose the military council’s oppressive rule through peaceful means of demonstration.
