
On April 9, villages in the northern part of Yinmabin Township organized and conducted a protest march against the military dictatorship. The protest, led by the Northern Yinmabin Villages Strike Committee, saw local residents demanding the complete end of the military dictatorship, the emergence of a federal democratic system, and the total elimination of the military regime. Protesters peacefully marched while carrying anti-dictatorship signboards and banners.
The northern Yinmabin region has consistently opposed the military coup since its inception and has continuously carried out anti-military dictatorship activities. Despite facing oppression and violence from the military regime, local residents have persistently continued their democratic movement. Through such protests, the people are expressing their opposition to the military dictatorship system. The local population has maintained their resistance despite the military council’s various forms of repression and violent tactics against civilians.
Participants in the protest not only condemned the military dictatorship’s unjust oppression, human rights violations, unlawful killings, and arbitrary arrests but also demanded the establishment of a genuine federal democratic system. The local residents have committed to continuing their united struggle for the complete elimination of the military dictatorship. The protest demonstrates the unwavering determination of the people in their fight for democracy, despite the ongoing challenges and threats they face from the military regime.
