
The Shwe Yay Kyun People’s Strike Column conducted an anti-military dictatorship protest march in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, on May 9. The protest movement, which continues to operate within Yinmabin Township against the military dictatorship, carried out a peaceful demonstration with the support of local residents. Protesters marched while carrying anti-military dictatorship signboards, National Unity Government flags, and national flags.
Yinmabin Township has been a region of continuous anti-coup activities, where people continue to fight for democracy despite the military council’s oppression. The Shwe Yay Kyun People’s Strike Column represents the voice of local residents, demanding an end to the military dictatorship and the restoration of democracy. They demonstrated against the military council’s violent suppression, arbitrary arrests, killings, and unjust laws.
Participants in the protest demanded the immediate end of the military dictatorship, the release of political prisoners, an end to the military council’s forced conscription, a stop to the looting and destruction of public property, and international legal action against the military council at the International Court of Justice. Local residents showed their support for the protest and continue to participate unitedly in anti-military dictatorship activities.
