On September 9, residents of Hpakant, Kachin State, held a mass demonstration to protest against the military dictatorship and the illegal election planned by Min Aung Hlaing’s military council. The protest brought together people from Hpakant, Sai Taung, Wai Khar, and Lon Khin areas, who united to show their opposition to the military regime.
The demonstrations were conducted simultaneously in four locations throughout the city, with protesters carrying banners demanding an end to the military dictatorship, rejection of the illegal election, and the establishment of a federal democratic system. Protesters chanted slogans calling for the complete elimination of the military dictatorship, boycotting of the illegal election, and unified resistance against the military regime through combined forces.
Additionally, protesters condemned the Chinese government’s support for the military dictatorship, expressing their opposition to China’s stance of ignoring the will of the Myanmar people while backing the military regime. The participants urged people across the country to refuse participation in the illegal election planned by Min Aung Hlaing’s military council and called for active involvement in the fight against the military dictatorship. They emphasized the importance of unified resistance and continued opposition to the military council’s attempts to legitimize their rule through fraudulent elections.
