A spokesperson from Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) has confirmed that resistance forces launched an attack on the military council’s Army Combat Training School (Bogyoke Aung San) in Thandaunggyi Township, Karen State, using five 107mm rockets. The attack, which occurred around 7:20 AM on May 19, resulted in four rockets successfully hitting their targets within the facility. The extent of casualties among military council personnel is currently under investigation.
The Bogyoke Aung San Combat Training School serves as a crucial training facility for officers from various battalions and units in Lower Myanmar, providing specialized courses for platoon commanders, company commanders, and battalion commanders. The facility was targeted due to its strategic importance in the military council’s command and control structure, according to the BWM spokesperson. The attack was specifically designed to create persistent insecurity among military council forces and disrupt their operational capabilities.
The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort between multiple resistance groups, including Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), Anti-Coup People’s Liberation Force (ACPLF), Mountain Knight Civilian Defense Forces (MKCDF), KNLA Brigade 2, and Battalion 5. Designated as BWM Mission 38, the attack represents a significant achievement in targeting one of the military council’s primary combat training facilities. The resistance forces consider this operation a successful strike against a key installation that plays a vital role in training military council officers who are responsible for implementing oppressive measures against civilians throughout Lower Myanmar.
