The incident occurred around 4 PM on February 26 when Thaung Kyee, the administrator of Shwepantaw village, was traveling by motorcycle with his follower to collect military service fees. The Underground Guerrilla Force Unit 4 of Battalion 3802 from Thayarwady District attacked them near Kyunnaukkun village. During the attack, Thaung Kyee was shot in the chest and abdomen.
Administrator Thaung Kyee is known to be a key military informant who regularly provides information about revolutionary forces to the military council. He has been involved in forcefully recruiting young people for military service through threats and collecting money from civilians. During the attack, revolutionary forces attempted to deliver a fatal shot, but a Ma Ba Tha monk intervened to protect him, forcing the resistance fighters to retreat. The incident highlights the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and military council collaborators in the region.
In a separate incident in Kyunsu Township, Tanintharyi Region, a shooting occurred between two Pyu Saw Htee members following an argument, resulting in one death. On February 26, Myint Yu and Khet Khe from Thazin village got into an argument that escalated into a shooting, leading to Myint Yu’s death. The deceased was buried the following day, and Khet Khe was arrested by police under the military council. Local residents reported that both individuals were brothers and were known for causing trouble and oppressing civilians in the area. The incidents reflect the ongoing violence and instability in various parts of Myanmar as the resistance movement continues to target military council collaborators and their associates.
