An administrator and two military informants who were recruiting young people for military service in Saetottara Township, Magway Region, were killed in an attack by the People’s Defense Force (PDF), according to a PDF official from Saetottara Township. The incident occurred on March 17 in Myaynikone village, where the deceased individuals were reportedly involved in forced recruitment of local youth for military service and extorting money from civilians.
Following the attack, some military uniforms were seized from the deceased, who were identified as individuals working as informants for the military council and attempting to organize local militia groups. The PDF has issued warnings to township, ward, and village-level administrators who are part of the military council’s administrative mechanism to immediately resign from their positions under the military’s structure, stating that severe action would be taken against those who fail to comply.
The People’s Defense Force has warned local residents to avoid areas near administrators, military informants, military camps, and military convoys, and announced that they will continue to identify and take action against those supporting the military council’s operations. This incident represents part of the public resistance against military oppression, and the PDF has confirmed that they will continue to protect the freedom and rights of local residents. The officials emphasized that those who collect information for the military council, attempt to organize militia groups, and participate in the military council’s administrative structure will face serious consequences for their actions against the civilian population.
