
An administrator and two military informants who were recruiting young people for military service in Saetottara Township, Magway Region, were killed in an attack by the People’s Defense Force (PDF), according to a PDF official from Saetottara Township. The incident occurred on March 17 in Myaynikone village, where the victims were known to be actively involved in forced recruitment of youth for military service and extorting money from local residents. The officials confirmed that the deceased were actively participating in the military council’s administrative mechanism and were systematically collecting young people for forced military service while demanding money from civilians.
According to the PDF’s statement, these individuals were active participants in the military’s administrative structure and were systematically involved in forced recruitment of local youth for military service and extortion of money from civilians. After the attack, some military uniforms were seized from them. The People’s Defense Force has announced that they will continue to take action against administrators, military informants, and others who are part of the military’s administrative mechanism. The group emphasized their commitment to eliminating all military council support structures and informants who assist in these activities.
Due to the security situation in Saetottara Township, civilians have been warned to avoid areas near administrators, military informants, military camps, and military convoys. Township, ward, and village-level administrators have been urged to immediately resign from the military council’s administrative mechanism. The PDF has also issued stern warnings that those who continue to support military-affiliated organizations or provide information to them will face severe consequences. The group maintains its position of protecting civilians while targeting those who actively support the military council’s oppressive activities against the local population.
