Local sources report that Deputy Township Administrator Thein Zaw Oo from Kyaukpadaung Township in Mandalay Region, a Pyu Saw Htee couple from Gyobingauk Township, and a village administrator from Oaktwin Township in Bago Region were shot and killed. In Kyaukpadaung Township, on March 9 at 6:20 PM, revolutionary forces arrested Deputy Township Administrator Thein Zaw Oo at his residence in Myaing Thayar village along the Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila road. He had been extorting money from young people while forcing them into military service. His body was discovered the next day, March 10, at 8:30 AM on the village connecting road between Kyaukpan (South) village and Wathtauk village, east of Kyaukpadaung town.
Following this incident, military and police forces have been conducting arbitrary arrests and searches of young people in Kyaukpadaung Township, particularly during nighttime, according to local residents. In Gyobingauk Township, Bago Region, on March 12 at 10:40 AM, BTZM GBK PDF forces based in Bago Yoma attacked a Pyu Saw Htee couple who owned the Nanwadi Gold Shop and a beans and rice trading business, resulting in the death of the wife, Thiri San. The couple was targeted for misappropriating beans and rice entrusted to them by the public, collaborating with the military, and threatening civilians with arrests.
Additionally, in Oaktwin Township’s Uyintaw village, on March 11 at 5:30 PM, unidentified armed individuals shot and killed the village administrator. Uyintaw village is located along the old Yangon-Mandalay road, and following the shooting, military council troops set up checkpoints at road junctions. These attacks appear to be targeted operations by revolutionary forces against individuals working within the military council’s administrative structure. The incidents highlight the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and those perceived to be collaborating with the military regime in various administrative roles across different regions of Myanmar.
