The military council has announced that Acting President Myint Swe is currently receiving intensive care treatment at Military Hospital No. 2 in Naypyidaw due to his critically deteriorating health condition. According to the announcement, Myint Swe began experiencing health issues in 2023, showing symptoms including decreased mobility, reduced food intake, and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease affecting his nervous system.
Throughout 2024, Myint Swe sought medical treatment both in Singapore and at various military hospitals in Myanmar. The military council also provided close medical supervision and treatment at his residence with specialized medical staff monitoring his condition. However, despite these medical interventions, his health condition continued to decline without showing any significant improvement.
His health situation particularly worsened during July 2025, when he experienced severe symptoms including significant weight loss, inability to maintain proper food intake, fever, and decreased brain activity. Due to this severe deterioration in his health condition, he was admitted to Military Hospital No. 2 on July 24, where he is currently receiving intensive care treatment. According to the military council’s announcement, Myint Swe’s current condition remains critical, necessitating continued treatment in the intensive care unit.
