
The Asho Chin Defense Force (ACDF) engaged in combat with a military column that entered Ngape Township in Magway Region, resulting in one soldier’s death and the seizure of weapons and ammunition, according to ACDF Information Officer Salai Khani Laboi. The incident occurred in ACDF Region 1’s controlled territory along the Ann-Padan road in Ngape Township on June 2.
The clash began when ACDF forces launched an attack on the military column that had entered their controlled territory. The ensuing firefight lasted approximately 15 minutes, with both sides exchanging gunfire. Following the engagement, ACDF forces conducted a sweep of the area and recovered one soldier’s body, one MA1 rifle, five ammunition magazines, and various ammunition. The ACDF spokesperson stated that while they did not have precise information about the size of the military column or its intended destination, they engaged the force upon confirming it was a hostile military patrol entering their territory.
The area where the clash occurred is under ACDF’s control, where they regularly conduct patrols to ensure local civilian security. The ACDF maintains active resistance against military incursions into their territory, consistently defending their controlled areas from military operations. The organization continues to prioritize the protection of civilian populations while maintaining defensive positions throughout their area of operations in Ngape Township.
