
The Arakan Army (AA) has launched an attack on the military council’s outpost in Pyaing Seik Ke village, which serves as a guard post for Battalion 32 in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State. According to AA sources, more than 50 military council soldiers were killed and many were captured alive in the operation. The military council camp in Pyaing Seik Ke village, which housed approximately 100 troops, was attacked by AA forces in full strength. Additionally, AA forces have surrounded and are conducting daily attacks on Battalion 32.
The AA has strategically surrounded and cut off military council camps in Kyaukphyu Township to prevent them from sending reinforcements to each other. As part of AA’s offensive to capture Kyaukphyu, they have already seized control of the Hnan Zet Taung camp, Min Tat Taung camp, and Leik Kamaw camp, and are currently focusing their attacks on Battalion 32. Military analysts from Rakhine State note that while the military council is defending with combined forces from army, navy, and air force, the AA maintains the upper hand in the fighting.
During recent battles, the military council has suffered heavy casualties, with more than 50 soldiers killed and many more captured, according to AA sources. The AA’s offensive operations in the Kyaukphyu region have dealt significant blows to military council forces, forcing them to abandon some of their positions. Local sources indicate that the areas under military council control are gradually diminishing as the AA continues its advances. The military council’s defensive capabilities have been severely compromised, and their territorial control in the region continues to weaken as the AA maintains its offensive operations.
