
The military council conducted an aerial attack on a school housing internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kyisu village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in one civilian death and 17 injuries. The attack occurred at approximately 1:24 AM on September 22, when military fighter jets from Tataoo launched an unprovoked airstrike on the school. The attack claimed the life of Daw Than Aye, age 55, who died instantly. Among the injured were Daw Shwin (63), Ko Myint Oo (55), Ko Aung Shan (40), Ko Wai Sein (20), Daw Pein (54), Zi Htun (23), Mi Mi (20), Tin San Win (21), and Pu Toe (21), along with eight others. The bombardment also caused significant damage to the school building and several nearby homes.
In a separate incident on the same day, the military conducted another aerial attack on the Pauk Mountain range, located between Pauk and Thilyin Townships in Magway Region. At approximately 9:20 AM, a Y-12 aircraft from Tataoo Air Base dropped 31 bombs on the area. While the extent of civilian casualties from this second attack remains unconfirmed, local residents have been forced to flee to safer locations to escape the ongoing threat of aerial bombardment. Local sources report that civilians in the affected areas continue to seek shelter in secure locations, following air defense guidelines issued by resistance forces to protect themselves from further military attacks.
