The spokesperson of the Longlone Township People’s Defense Force has confirmed that four military soldiers were killed during an interceptive attack on a military column traveling from Dawei to Longlone in Tanintharyi Region. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM on September 17, when revolutionary forces systematically pursued and attacked a military column consisting of over 100 personnel that had entered Longlone Township from Dawei. An intense 30-minute clash took place when the forces encountered the military column near Ra Haung Wa village on the main road.
During the engagement, revolutionary forces successfully gained tactical advantage and effectively attacked the military column, resulting in four confirmed deaths and three injuries among military personnel. Additionally, when a second military column attempted to provide reinforcement through a forest route, resistance forces deployed three daisy-chained mines in an attack that reportedly caused additional military casualties, though the exact numbers could not be immediately verified. The coordinated operation was carried out through the collaboration of multiple resistance groups, including the Longlone Township People’s Defense Force, Dauna Column-3 KBDF, Dauna Unit-7 LPF, Dawei District People’s Defense Front (DDPDF), and the Federal Thuwa Star Force.
The bodies of the fallen soldiers were transported to Dawei city using a small refrigerated truck. The resistance forces have documented information about the truck driver who has been cooperating with the military forces, and have issued a stern warning that severe action will be taken if the individual enters Longlone Township again. The People’s Defense Force spokesperson emphasized the importance of civilian safety during such encounters, advising residents to seek shelter in secure locations during sudden outbreaks of fighting and to remain vigilant about potential conflicts that could arise without warning in the area.
