Revolutionary sources confirmed that four military soldiers were killed when resistance forces attacked a military column that was burning houses in Hle Pwe village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region. On the evening of September 20, a military column of approximately 180 soldiers from their base stationed at Chapsin Pyusawthi village entered Hle Pwe village and systematically burned down civilian homes. The military forces were conducting these destructive operations when revolutionary forces launched a counter-attack.
During the ensuing battle, four military soldiers were killed and three others were wounded, while the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. The attack was carried out through coordination between Kanbalu District Battalion 2, Company 4, led by Major Mone Taing, and local defense forces. This incident demonstrates the ongoing pattern of military violence against civilian populations and the resistance movement’s efforts to protect local communities.
Similarly, on September 17, revolutionary forces attacked the Zikone town police station in Kanbalu Township, resulting in the deaths of six military personnel including police officers. The operation also led to the capture of two police lieutenants, two police officers, four police family members, and three detainees. During this engagement, resistance forces seized multiple weapons from the police force, including nine G-3 rifles, one G-4 rifle, one MA-15 rifle, and one pistol. The resistance forces subsequently destroyed the police station buildings by fire. These incidents reflect the intensifying conflict between revolutionary forces and military-aligned security forces in the Sagaing Region, where civilian communities continue to face aggressive military operations and destruction of property.
