
A protest was held in Daegu, South Korea, expressing solidarity with the people of Myanmar and opposition to the military coup. During the demonstration, participants showed their support for Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun to continue serving as Myanmar’s legitimate representative at the United Nations. Protesters carried signs not only condemning the military coup in Myanmar but also expressing support for the liberation of people from the military dictatorship.
At the protest, revolutionary activist Daegu Sayadaw, who led the demonstration, stated that activists in South Korea would continue to engage with all their might until the people of Myanmar are freed from the oppressive dictatorship. He also urged the international community to increase their support for the Myanmar people’s struggle for democracy and to join in opposing and fighting against the military dictatorship. Participants in the protest carried signs and posters supporting Myanmar’s democracy movement and chanted slogans opposing the military dictatorship system loudly.
