
Local residents reported that the military council conducted airstrikes on Three Pagodas Village in western Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, which is currently under the control of the TNLA (Ta’ang National Liberation Army). The attack occurred on September 21 at 2:15 PM, with two bombs being dropped. According to local sources, one bomb failed to detonate while the other exploded on a chicken farm. Initial reports indicate there were no casualties from this particular airstrike.
The military council has been conducting continuous airstrikes in Mogok. Previously, on September 16 at 7:08 AM, they carried out airstrikes near Lin Yaung Kyi Monastery, west of Chantha Gyi Pagoda in eastern Mogok, which is also under TNLA control. This attack resulted in one woman being injured and more than four houses being destroyed. On August 18 at 3:10 PM, another airstrike targeted the area near a nunnery at Kyat Pyin Market in Mogok, resulting in one civilian being injured.
The military council’s aerial attacks have caused numerous civilian casualties. On August 17, between 8:59 AM and 9:03 AM, airstrikes on eastern Mogok killed three civilians, including a motorcycle rider and a child. On August 14 at 8:30 PM, an airstrike on Lin Yaung Kyi Monastery in Shwe Ku Ward, eastern Mogok, resulted in the deaths of 21 people, including 16 women and 5 men. On August 9 at 6:45 PM, despite there being no active fighting, the military conducted an airstrike on Kyauk Nagar Village in eastern Mogok, hitting a monastery and killing 5 innocent civilians.
On August 2 at 8:25 AM, the military council used fighter jets to drop two 250-pound bombs on Mogok town, resulting in 12 civilian deaths and 14 injuries. Additionally, on September 18 around 8:00 PM, the military conducted airstrikes using two fighter jets in Sintguu Township, Mandalay Region, which resulted in injuries to two civilians. These continuous airstrikes demonstrate the military council’s ongoing campaign of aerial attacks against civilian areas, resulting in significant casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure including religious buildings and homes.
