A military council supply convoy in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, was intercepted and attacked three times by revolutionary forces, resulting in 26 soldier casualties and the destruction of 6 vehicles by fire, according to an official from the Lark Guerilla Force. The first attack occurred on August 21 at Thankhantun village, targeting a convoy of 10 military vehicles, which resulted in over 20 military casualties and the destruction of 3 vehicles. During this engagement, revolutionary forces seized military equipment including 2 MA-1 rifles, 12 ammunition magazines, 5 Inaga bombs, 5 hand grenades, and other related military supplies.
The second attack took place on September 4, when the remaining convoy, reinforced with approximately 80 soldiers at Wakun village, attempted to move with 9 vehicles. Revolutionary forces intercepted them near Phaya Taung, leading to an hour-long firefight. The third attack occurred on September 7 in the afternoon, between the 23-mile and 24-mile marks of Wakun village, resulting in a brief engagement. These latter two attacks resulted in 6 additional military casualties, numerous injuries, and the destruction of two large trucks and one small vehicle. During these battles, three resistance fighters were killed in action: one from Daw Column 7 and two from KNLA Battalion 12.
The coordinated attacks were carried out by a coalition of revolutionary forces including KNLA Brigade 4 Battalion 12, Klar Thnit People’s Defense Force, Bilon Guerrilla Force, Dawei Nationalities Liberation Army (ONLA)’s Duraka Column, Fight For Freedom (FFD) Force, Daw Na Column 7, Dawei East Forest People’s Defense Force (DEFPDF), Steel Guerrilla (Nabayan) Force, Dawei District No. 2 Battalion (T5), Eastern Defense Force (CDF), Ba Htoo Army (BHA), and Daung Nyi Naung Column. These operations demonstrate the continued resistance against the military council’s attempts to maintain supply lines in the region, with significant impact on their operational capabilities.
