Daily battles continue to rage in Kyaindone and Kawkareik townships of Karen State, with significant casualties reported on the military side according to local military sources. Starting from September 10, the military launched major offensives with large troop deployments. However, they faced strong resistance from revolutionary forces, resulting in repeated retreats. Despite these setbacks, the military continues to reinforce their positions with newly conscripted soldiers and launch repeated offensive operations.
Intense fighting has been reported in several villages including Inn Gyi, Kyun Bine, Yan Kut, and Hlaing Sein villages in Kawkareik and Kyaindone townships. Both sides are engaging in drone warfare, with revolutionary forces effectively employing drones, shock attack missiles, and sniper weapons. These tactics have successfully halted the military’s advance in multiple areas. While the military continues to deploy suicide drones daily, military analysts note that these attacks have proven largely ineffective. The revolutionary forces have maintained their defensive positions while conducting strategic offensive operations using various weapons systems.
Notably, during battles between September 10 and 15 in Kyaindone township, an entire military column was completely disrupted, with reports of over 40 military casualties in the Kyun Bine and Inn Gyi village areas. These bodies remain unrecovered and decomposing, as the military has been unable to retrieve them due to ongoing fighting. Additionally, the military, which has heavily fortified positions in Myawaddy, has been conducting heavy artillery strikes near the Myawaddy Trade Zone, while revolutionary forces continue to launch drone attacks against military installations in the surrounding area. The situation remains highly volatile with both sides engaged in daily tactical operations and exchanges of fire.
