In Sankyi Laung village of Nattalin Township, Bago Region, village administrator Zaw Min Naing, who had been forcibly recruiting young people as porters and collecting military service fees for the army, was killed in a targeted operation by revolutionary forces. The operation details were disclosed by Commander Kyaw of the Bamar Revolution Army (BRA), who provided comprehensive information about the incident.
The operation took place around 9 PM on September 19, when revolutionary forces entered Zaw Min Naing’s residence and carried out the operation. According to the commander, Zaw Min Naing had been organizing cockfighting rings, providing intelligence to the military council, forcibly recruiting young people for military service, and collecting military service fees in the area. The operation was jointly conducted by Battalion 3801, Company 4 BRA, and battalion headquarters personnel. Following the operation, there was retaliatory fire from the Damange Police Station using small arms, but the revolutionary forces managed to withdraw safely.
The BRA commander issued a warning that they would continue to take action against those working for the military council in Nattalin Township. He urged those who are oppressing civilians for personal gain, despite being aware of the military council’s brutality, to align themselves with the public as soon as possible. The commander emphasized that the People’s Defense Forces would not remain idle while civilians are being oppressed by those serving the interests of the military council at the expense of public welfare.
