
A village administrator named Phoe Kyaw, who had been forcing local youth into porter service and collecting military service fees in Lower Sharsibo Village, Nattalin Township, Bago Region, was killed in an attack by revolutionary forces, according to an official from Battalion 3801 of Thayarwaddy District No. 1. The incident occurred around 9 AM on September 17, when revolutionary forces entered the administrator’s house. When he attempted to flee, they pursued and shot him, resulting in his immediate death.
The deceased administrator Phoe Kyaw had been collaborating with the military council, forcibly recruiting local youth as porters, and collecting monthly military service fees from the village residents. During the attack, the revolutionary forces seized a motorcycle and a mobile phone from the administrator. The resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties.
The operation was carried out by members of the Gold Brother Unit 7 under Battalion 1, Thayarwaddy District, Strategy 22 of the Bago Military Command. According to the battalion official, the attack was conducted in response to the administrator’s oppressive actions against local civilians in collaboration with the military council. The official further explained that the administrator had been actively supporting the military council’s oppressive measures against the local population, which ultimately led to this targeted operation.
