
On September 17 at around 3 PM, revolutionary forces launched an attack on Zee Kone Police Station in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the death of 6 police personnel including junior officers and the seizure of 12 weapons, according to a spokesperson from the Dhuwa People’s Defense Force. During the operation, they also captured 2 police lieutenants, 2 police officers, 4 family members of police personnel, and 3 detainees.
The battle lasted only a few minutes, during which the revolutionary forces seized 9 G-3 rifles, one G-4 rifle, one MA-15 rifle, and one pistol from the police station. Following the seizure, the revolutionary forces burned down the police station buildings. The operation was led by the Kanbalu District People’s Defense Force column in collaboration with the Yay Oo Dhuwa People’s Defense Force and local defense forces.
The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties. This battle demonstrates the continued escalation of revolutionary operations in the Sagaing Region and indicates strengthening cooperation between local civilians and revolutionary forces. The successful operation represents another strategic victory in the ongoing resistance against the military council’s security forces in the region.
