
The Battalion No. 5 of Salay District has reported that an attack occurred on a police vehicle carrying the township administrator in Sinpaungwe Township, Magway Region, along the Kopin-Thagara road section. The incident resulted in the death of three police officers and severe injuries to the township administrator and other police personnel. The attack took place on September 13 at 7:54 AM when members of the People’s Defense Force targeted the vehicle. The three police officers were killed instantly at the scene, while the Sinpaungwe Township administrator and remaining soldiers and police officers sustained serious injuries.
The injured individuals were immediately transported to Magway People’s Hospital for emergency surgery and treatment. The attack was confirmed to have been carried out by PDF soldiers from the Battalion No. 5 of Salay District under the People’s Defense Force Military Region 1. Additionally, another incident was reported in the northern part of Ye-U town in Sagaing Region. The Ye-U incident occurred on September 17 at approximately 8:20 AM when the People’s Defense Force of Ye-U Township conducted a mine attack against a group of military council troops and Pyu Saw Htee members, numbering around 50, near the town’s entrance sign as they were moving northward from the town.
While the exact number of casualties on the military council’s side could not be confirmed, the People’s Defense Force spokesperson from Ye-U Township confirmed that their revolutionary forces successfully retreated without any casualties. The spokesperson indicated that there were reports of at least two military personnel being hit in the attack, though the extent of their injuries or potential fatalities could not be immediately verified. The resistance forces continue to maintain their defensive operations against military council forces throughout the region, demonstrating their commitment to the ongoing struggle for democratic restoration in Myanmar.
