A spokesperson from the Northern Seikphyu People’s Defense Force has confirmed that five battles occurred in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, during June and August, resulting in the deaths of 14 military council soldiers. An additional 27 soldiers were reported injured in these confrontations.
On June 11, a significant clash occurred when 20 military council soldiers from the Ten Mile Junction military checkpoint were conducting a patrol. The resistance forces had laid mines in their path, and when the patrol encountered the minefield, eight soldiers were killed and ten others were severely wounded. This incident led to an exchange of fire between both sides. Subsequently, on June 17, resistance forces launched another mine attack on a military vehicle traveling from Seikphyu town to the Ten Mile checkpoint, resulting in three soldiers’ deaths and seven severe injuries.
A third major engagement took place on June 30, when resistance forces targeted two military vehicles carrying approximately 30 soldiers from Seikphyu town. This attack resulted in three more military council casualties and five serious injuries. The resistance forces continued their offensive into August, with two drone attacks on the Letsan Police Station. The first attack on August 13 involved three drone-dropped bombs, causing severe injuries to three military council personnel. A follow-up attack on August 15 with five drone bombs resulted in injuries to two police officers.
These operations were jointly conducted by the Northern Seikphyu People’s Defense Force (NSP) and the Pakokku District Battalion 4, Company 3 of the Northern Seikphyu People’s Defense Force. Military sources confirmed that the resistance forces successfully executed these operations and were able to withdraw without casualties. The coordinated attacks demonstrate the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region and their continued efforts to challenge military council control in the area.
