Intense fighting has also broken out in Pakari village in Dawei Township, where revolutionary forces are launching counteroffensives against the military. The resistance forces attacked military troops stationed at a monastery, resulting in military casualties. In response, the military has conducted airstrikes and heavy artillery bombardments, leading to the death of one civilian. The fighting has escalated as the military continues to deploy more troops to the area.
In Tanintharyi Region, People’s Defense Forces (PDF) and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) are jointly resisting the military’s offensive operations. While the military attempts to control the Union Highway and recapture border posts along the Thai-Myanmar border, revolutionary forces maintain territorial control according to Karen military sources. The situation remains tense with ongoing clashes, and revolutionary forces continue to hold the upper hand in terms of territorial control despite the military’s intensified operations using thousands of newly conscripted troops.
