The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government (NUG), Man Win Khaing Than, has issued instructions to systematically document and take action against those who participate in, campaign for, or deliberately engage in information dissemination for the military council’s election. These directives were given during the 31/2025 meeting of the NUG’s Interim Local People’s Administration Implementation Central Committee held on September 11.
The Prime Minister highlighted that while the interim local administration sector has become more robust in 2025 compared to previous years, there are three major challenges that need to be addressed. First, to gain international recognition, the local administration must maintain transparency, accountability, and adherence to human rights standards. Second, there is a need to effectively counter the military council’s political maneuvers by preventing their election preparations, public mobilization efforts, and information dissemination activities. He emphasized the importance of properly documenting and taking systematic action against those who purposefully participate in such activities.
The third challenge involves addressing the adverse effects and difficulties faced by the public due to the military council’s illegal seizure of power. The Prime Minister stressed the necessity of providing maximum possible services to the public and ensuring their psychological security. Furthermore, he explained that in addition to armed resistance, they are simultaneously engaging in political, economic, and administrative battles to uproot the terrorist military dictatorship and establish a new federal democratic state in accordance with the people’s wishes. The NUG is working to build the foundation for a future federal democratic nation while standing united with the people to overcome the military council’s political machinations and achieve revolutionary success.
