
According to a statement from the KNU Myeik-Dawei District, 15 soldiers were killed and an entire military column retreated after resistance forces attacked the military troops attempting to advance on the base in Htamin-Sa-Ywa village, Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region. Fighting broke out on September 9 when the military council forces attempted to recapture the base in Htamin-Sa-Ywa village, engaging with revolutionary allied forces under the leadership of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and KNDO.
The revolutionary allied forces successfully captured the military base in Htamin-Sa-Ywa village on September 8 at around 7 AM and seized weapons and ammunition. The operation was carried out by KNLA Battalion 4, KNDO Battalion 7, Units 2 and 5, KNLA Special Forces, Palaw People’s Defense Force, and other revolutionary allied forces.
The Htamin-Sa-Ywa military base was staffed by over 40 personnel from various military units including Infantry Battalion 280, Artillery Battalion 309, and members of the No. 12 Military Training School. This victory represents a significant achievement for local civilians and demonstrates the capabilities and unity of revolutionary forces. The revolutionary forces continue their efforts to protect the security and rights of local civilians.
