Revolutionary forces conducted an attack on military and police personnel stationed at the General Administration Department office in North Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region, resulting in severe injuries to two soldiers, according to a representative from the Urban Guerrilla Network. The attack took place at 10:10 PM on September 10, with resistance forces using two homemade mines and two hand grenades in the operation. At the time of the attack, approximately 12 military and police personnel were present inside the administrative office.
The attack resulted in severe injuries to two soldiers, while the remaining security forces responded with indiscriminate firing in the surrounding area out of panic. They also cut off electricity in the area. However, all members of the attacking force managed to safely withdraw and return to their secure locations. The operation was jointly carried out by the Urban Guerrilla Network and the North Okkalapa People’s Defense Force, demonstrating coordinated resistance efforts against the military regime’s presence in urban areas.
The Urban Guerrilla Network representative issued a strong warning to those collaborating with the military council’s attempts to maintain power and those participating in the military-organized elections. They emphasized that the military council has been committing war crimes against civilians, and warned people against becoming complicit in supporting such actions. The representative stressed that this operation serves as a clear message to those working with the military administration, urging them to cease their cooperation with the regime that continues to oppress the civilian population. The successful execution of this coordinated attack demonstrates the growing capabilities of resistance forces in urban areas and their determination to challenge the military’s control over administrative structures.
