
The military conducted aerial bombings on Salin village in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region, without any ongoing battles, forcing local residents to flee as internally displaced persons. According to local residents, on the evening of September 5, the military dropped approximately 40 bombs continuously on Salin village. The exact number of civilian casualties and extent of damage are yet to be determined. A local resident confirmed that most civilians have been forced to evacuate to safer locations due to the aerial attacks.
Additionally, in Mone Township, Bago Region, military artillery attacks on villages resulted in one civilian death, two injuries, and the death of one cow with another injured, according to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU). On September 3, the military fired two 81mm artillery shells from Seikgyi, which exploded in Ngathweswut village, injuring 62-year-old Daw San Tint.
On September 2, the military fired six 120mm artillery shells consecutively from Natthankhwin, which landed and exploded in the vicinity of villages and roads on both the eastern and western banks of Yele. The attack resulted in the death of 37-year-old Saw Phar La Moo (aka) Maung Lu Pe from Yele East Bank village and injured 75-year-old U Aung Thein. The KNU reported that the military continues to deliberately target civilians daily with heavy weapons and drones, resulting in civilian casualties, injuries, and destruction of property and belongings.
