
A spokesperson from the Kanbauk Defense Force confirmed that five military council troops were killed when revolutionary forces intercepted a military column that had departed from Say Ain Su village in Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region. The clash occurred around 9:30 AM on August 29 when revolutionary forces on patrol encountered the military council column that had emerged from Say Ain Su village in Yebyu Township. The engagement lasted approximately 30 minutes, resulting in five casualties on the military council’s side and one resistance fighter wounded.
Following the clash, the military council reinforced their position with two vehicles mounted with heavy weapons and proceeded to raid Say Ain Su village and Taung Yin Tin village. During these raids, they burned down civilian homes and loaded military vehicles with confiscated civilian property. The military council troops also captured and killed two internally displaced villagers who had come to Taung Yin Tin village to collect food supplies. Currently, residents from Taung Yin Tin, Phar Chaung, and Say Ain Su villages remain displaced due to the ongoing violence perpetrated by the military council forces.
The joint operation against the military council involved multiple resistance groups including Dauna Column-3 (Kanbauk Defense Force), Dauna Unit-6 (Air Force), Dauna Unit-7 (Liberation Force), Bathoo Army, Yebyu Township People’s Defense Force, Naga Ni Guerrilla Force, Dawei People’s Defense Front, Zin Yaw Force, Ramanya Mon Army, and KNLA Brigade-6 Battalion-27. In a related incident on August 28, another clash occurred in the same area between revolutionary forces and military council troops, resulting in 34 military council soldiers killed and 10 wounded.
