
On September 5, a protest against the military dictatorship was held in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, led by the Shwe Yay Kyun Strike Column. Local residents and youth participated in the demonstration, marching with flags raised high to oppose the dictatorial system, calling for the complete elimination of military dictatorship and the restoration of people’s power.
The Shwe Yay Kyun Strike Column has been one of the main active protest groups in the Sagaing Region since the military coup. They continue to conduct peaceful demonstrations while wearing masks to protect local citizens’ rights and oppose the military dictatorship. Despite the military council’s violent crackdowns on such protests, the people remain undeterred and continue to demonstrate their resistance.
Yinmabin Township is known as one of the areas with strong anti-military dictatorship movements within Sagaing Region. Although local residents face oppression from the military group, they continue their struggle for democracy. Despite the military council’s attempts to force people into military service and intimidate them, the people refuse to surrender their fight for democracy and continue their resistance movement.
