A spokesperson from the People’s Defence Force Katha District B-04 has confirmed that resistance forces successfully repelled an offensive by the military council troops and their allies from the Shan Nationalities Army (SNA) in Banmauk Township, Sagaing Region. The incident occurred near Naryaka village in Banmauk Township on September 3rd in the evening, when SNA forces entered resistance-controlled territory in a four-wheel-drive vehicle and launched an attack.
The ensuing clash lasted approximately 30 minutes, resulting in casualties among the military council and SNA forces. Following the battle, the military council conducted drone strikes, which hit civilian homes and injured one civilian. While there were confirmed casualties among the SNA forces, the exact numbers could not be verified according to officials. The resistance forces successfully withdrew from the area without casualties after effectively responding to the attack.
Ongoing battles continue to occur almost daily in the northern and western parts of Banmauk Township due to military council offensive operations. The military council has been conducting acts of violence against local civilians, including burning properties, looting, and forcing residents to flee their homes as internally displaced persons. Resistance forces continue to defend against military council offensives with maximum effort while protecting the lives and property of civilians, according to responsible officials. The situation remains tense in the region as revolutionary forces maintain their defensive positions against military council aggression.
