The Mudon People’s Defense Force has announced that Maung Myo, who had been working as an informant for the terrorist military, was shot and killed in Mon State’s Mudon Township. The incident occurred at approximately 7:10 PM on September 1st along the Lamma Gyi-Mawlamyine-Thanbyu Zayat road section in Mudon Township. The operation was jointly carried out by the Mawlamyine District Operation Group and Joint Operation Group 10.
The deceased, Pyu Saw Htee member Maung Myo, had been actively collaborating with the terrorist military council’s subordinate forces by providing false intelligence reports, carrying out tasks assigned by these forces, and notably participating in the arrest and torture of local civilians by military council troops. As a result of these activities, he was targeted and eliminated by the People’s Defense Forces. The operation was deemed necessary due to his continued involvement in activities that posed a direct threat to civilian safety and security.
The People’s Defense Forces have been closely monitoring individuals who serve as informants for the military council, and despite repeated warnings to cease activities that endanger the civilian population, those who fail to comply face such consequences. The Mudon People’s Defense Force confirmed that all members of the resistance forces involved in the operation successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties or injuries. This incident serves as a clear message regarding the consequences faced by those who choose to collaborate with the military council in their oppression of civilians.
