The Underground Guerrilla Force-Oaktho of Battalion 3802 Column 4 from Thayarwady District has carried out an attack on the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) office in Minhla town, Bago Region, which has been participating in the military council’s illegal election. The attack took place near the entrance of the USDP office in Bogyonetan Ward, Minhla town, at approximately 7:20 PM on August 29.
During the bombing attack, some military personnel guarding the USDP office were injured, while the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. This attack serves as a warning against the military council’s planned illegal election, and the resistance forces have warned that there will be more intense attacks against those who participate in or support the election.
A representative from the Underground Guerrilla Force-Oaktho of Battalion 3802 Column 4 from Thayarwady District stated that their operations will continue throughout all townships in Thayarwady District. They have urged the public not to participate in the military council’s illegal election in any way. The representative also warned that those who choose to collaborate with the election will face more severe attacks. The resistance forces emphasized that this attack was a clear message against the military council’s attempts to legitimize their rule through an illegal election process.
