A 14-year-old girl was killed and a man was severely injured when the terrorist military conducted an aerial attack on Thanatpaukhtaw village in Natmauk Township, Magway Region, according to People’s Defense Force officials from Natmauk Township. The incident occurred on August 30, 2023, at 9:15 AM when a military aircraft from Meiktila Air Base deliberately attacked Thanatpaukhtaw village, located between Kantha village, Settaw village, and Kyauktoe village, with parameter bombs.
According to local sources, this aerial attack was carried out deliberately against a civilian area without any ongoing fighting in the region. Local residents reported that the terrorist military frequently conducts such aerial attacks on civilian areas. The father of the deceased girl suffered severe injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment, as confirmed by local residents.
The terrorist military council regularly targets civilian areas including villages, religious buildings, IDP camps, and schools with aerial attacks. As a result, revolutionary forces have strongly urged local residents to follow air raid defense procedures and construct sturdy bomb shelters to protect themselves from these aerial attacks. The military’s continued targeting of civilian areas demonstrates their ongoing campaign of violence against the people of Myanmar, with innocent civilians bearing the brunt of these indiscriminate attacks.
