
The Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee has reported that two civilians were injured and several monasteries, schools, and houses were damaged when the terrorist military attacked villages in Nyaunglebin District, Bago Region, with heavy weapons and drones. These attacks occurred between August 21 and 26.
On August 21 at around 8:00 AM in Mone Township, troops from the terrorist military’s Infantry Battalion 60 conducted drone strikes on Phayesi village, resulting in damage to a school. Later that day, at approximately 2:00 PM, soldiers stationed at Mone San Bridge fired three 120mm artillery shells, which landed and exploded in Nyaungpintha village, damaging five houses and a monastery, while also injuring one cow.
The following day, on August 22 at around 9:20 AM, terrorist military forces positioned at Kwin Chaung Wa fired five howitzer shells at Phayesi village, resulting in the injury of another cow. In Lay Doe Township on August 23, after 2:00 PM, troops from Infantry Battalion 264 fired an 81mm artillery shell into Inn Parit village, wounding 42-year-old U Myo Win Htun.
In Shwegyin Township on August 23 at around 2:00 PM, Infantry Battalion 20 fired two 120mm artillery shells into Htaw Lu Kho village, injuring 39-year-old Naw April War. Additionally, on August 26 after 8:00 AM, a group of approximately 40 DKBA forces under the command of Bo Bi, led by Saw Tay Kway and Saw Aung Myint, deliberately attacked and burned a raft and two engines owned by local civilians Saw Than Mya and Saw Nay Than at the Done Thami Creek ferry point in Thi Phyu Pin Seik village, Hpa-an Township. These DKBA forces, operating under the terrorist military council, have established a checkpoint near Kyar Inn Monastery in Hpa-an Township and have been reportedly destroying civilian property without justification.
