
The military council continues to conduct aerial attacks on territories controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Mogok city, Mandalay Region. On August 25 at 10:55 PM, an airstrike targeted the area near Gaw Ra Kha Temple, also known as Elephant Mountain Monastery, in the eastern part of Mogok’s Municipal ward, resulting in one civilian injury and damage to four houses. Currently, most residents of Mogok have fled as internally displaced persons, while those remaining must remain vigilant against air strikes both day and night.
On August 18, another airstrike near the Kyat Pyin Market nunnery resulted in one civilian casualty. On August 17, airstrikes in eastern Mogok killed three civilians, including a motorcyclist and a child. On August 14, an aerial attack on the Lin Yaung Kyi Monastery in eastern Mogok’s Shwe Ku ward resulted in 21 deaths, including 16 women and 5 men. On August 9, unprovoked airstrikes on Kyauk Nagar village in eastern Mogok killed 5 civilians. On August 2, jet fighter attacks using two 250-pound bombs resulted in 12 civilian deaths and 14 injuries.
Throughout July, multiple airstrikes were conducted, resulting in civilian casualties and injuries. Similar aerial attacks continued throughout June and May across various locations in Mogok township. The military council has been consistently targeting civilian areas with airstrikes, leading to significant loss of life and displacement of local populations. These attacks have particularly impacted religious buildings, residential areas, and public spaces, causing widespread destruction and forcing many residents to flee their homes in search of safety.
