
The Unicorn Guerrilla Force (UGF) has successfully captured Corporal Ye Linn Naing alive when he left the Mingun Police Station in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, to buy betel nut. The arrest took place on August 21, and the captured soldier was identified as a member of the Communications and Engineering unit under Military Division 33. During the arrest, two mobile phones were seized from the corporal, which contained messages challenging revolutionary forces.
Investigation revealed that the captured soldier had been using the alias ‘Death’s Messenger’ on Telegram to issue challenges to revolutionary force members. A spokesperson from the UGF confirmed that no weapons were found on the corporal during his capture, only the two mobile phones. The spokesperson stated that interrogation of the detained soldier is currently ongoing, and appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
The Unicorn Guerrilla Force continues to conduct revolutionary activities within the Sagaing Region, maintaining surveillance over military council troop movements. This successful capture of a military council member demonstrates the effectiveness of revolutionary forces’ operations and represents a significant achievement for the security of local civilians in the area.
