Revolutionary forces successfully launched a rocket attack on the Myanmar military’s No. 13 Advanced Training School in Sagaing Region’s Thabeikkyin Township, resulting in significant casualties and damage. The operation, led by BRAVE WARRIORS FOR MYANMAR, took place on August 20th, during which resistance forces fired 10 rockets at the training facility, with 9 successfully hitting their targets. The attack resulted in the deaths of 3 senior instructor officers and 18 soldiers, according to confirmation from the attacking forces.
The assault caused extensive damage to the military installation, with four dormitory buildings being destroyed by fire and substantial losses of training equipment and materials. The No. 13 Advanced Military Training School is a crucial military facility within the Mandalay Regional Military Command area, serving as an important training center where soldiers receive instruction in platoon, company, and battalion-level operations. The facility also functions as a key military base for operations against Thabeikkyin and Mogok areas, which made it a strategic target for the resistance forces. The attacking forces explained that this location was specifically chosen due to its significance in the military’s operational capabilities in the region.
The operation was coordinated by Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) and included the participation of several resistance groups including Shadow (Anyar), No More Dictatorship (NMD-PDF), and Infinity (Anyar). The Mandalay Division Artillery Force and local revolutionary groups also provided support for the operation. According to statements from the resistance forces, such coordinated operations are aimed at degrading the military’s combat capabilities and opposing their illegitimate actions. The revolutionary forces have declared their commitment to continuing their campaign against the military while protecting civilian interests, emphasizing their determination to resist what they describe as the military’s unjust actions against the people.
