The Chin National Organization has announced temporary closures of several road sections, including the Swei Lwei Kyin-Kyin Dway route and the Saw-Kanpetlet route, due to the movement of military council forces comprising two tanks and 136 military vehicles heading towards Kanpetlet, Mindat, and Matupi townships in Chin State. Intelligence reports indicate that approximately 800 soldiers from Loneshay Training Camp 25 in Magway Region, about 400 troops advancing from the Seitphyu area, and a military convoy from Pakokku Division 101 consisting of two tanks and 136 military vehicles currently stationed in Pauk Township are preparing for a major offensive targeting areas controlled by Chin allied forces in Mindat, Kanpetlet, and Matupi townships. These forces are reportedly approaching through the Yaw region of Magway Division with the intention of launching an attack at any time.
Starting from August 20, the Chin Defense Force has implemented closures on the Swei Lwei Kyin-Kyin Dway route, the Saw-Kanpetlet route, and all access roads leading from Magway Region into Kanpetlet Township. According to a spokesperson from the Chin National Organization, military forces have been steadily infiltrating Saw town over the past two weeks, with an additional 180 troops recently arriving from the Seitphyu area. The spokesperson confirmed that approximately 800 soldiers are currently assembled at Loneshay Training Camp 25. The total military presence in the area includes both the newly arrived forces and previously stationed troops, though exact numbers remain unclear.
Residents of Kanpetlet Township have been advised to maintain military vigilance and prepare for potential attacks by the military council forces at any time. They have been urged to construct bomb shelters and bunkers capable of withstanding airstrikes, as aerial attacks could occur at any location without warning. It has also been reported that there are currently no ongoing negotiations between the Chin Brotherhood and the Chin National Front regarding coordinated resistance against the military council’s offensive into Chin territory. The situation remains tense as local defense forces monitor the military buildup and prepare for potential confrontations.
