
Seven civilians were killed when the terrorist military conducted airstrikes using a Y-12 aircraft on Shala and Kyunthaw villages in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, on the morning of August 19. According to local residents, the aerial attack resulted in the death of four civilians from Shala village and three from Kyunthaw village. Additionally, three other civilians sustained severe injuries and are reported to be in critical condition. Local sources confirmed that the condition of the injured victims remains concerning.
The military’s aerial assault caused extensive damage to numerous houses in Kyunthaw village and resulted in the death of villagers’ cattle. A local resident reported that the military’s airstrikes deliberately targeted civilian areas rather than military objectives, causing destruction to residential homes and civilian casualties. Local residents pointed out that these military airstrikes resulting in civilian casualties and injuries constitute war crimes. The attacks have highlighted the military’s continued use of airpower against civilian populations, causing loss of innocent lives and significant damage to civilian infrastructure.
