
A clash between military council forces and resistance forces occurred between Aing Ma village and Ohpyinme village in Minbu Township, Magway Region, resulting in the death of 7 military council soldiers, according to local sources. On August 17 at 2:30 PM, military council troops from Infantry Battalion 88, who had departed from Zi Ein village in Minbu Township, conducted searches in the villages of Sakaw, Pintalae, Kanthaut, and Aing Ma before proceeding toward Ohpyinme village.
During the military council forces’ village searches, resistance forces had set up an ambush position between Aing Ma village and Ohpyinme village. When the military council forces arrived, they launched an attack. The battle resulted in 7 military council soldiers being killed and many others wounded, while the resistance forces suffered no casualties, according to local residents’ confirmation.
Following the battle, military council forces entered Ohpyinme village and burned down 27 houses. They also attacked a rest house at the village entrance using drones, causing significant damage. Local residents reported that the military council’s destruction of civilian property has created severe hardships for local people’s livelihoods, with families whose homes were burned now seeking shelter with nearby relatives.
