A military convoy of the military council was attacked with mines by revolutionary forces in Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the destruction of one vehicle, according to a responsible official from the People’s Knight Defence Force – Myinmu (PKDF-MMU). The incident occurred on August 16 in the afternoon when the military council forces were returning to Myinmu town after burning down Let Htutwah village. The attack took place between Wunpyi village and Myinmu town.
The revolutionary forces used six pull-mines and remote-controlled mines in the attack. They had been waiting day and night when the military council forces arrived with large numbers, forcing them to retreat. However, one of the military council’s civilian vehicles triggered the mine wire they had set up, causing an explosion. The operation was carried out under the command of the Sagaing District Military Command Commander, with joint forces from the People’s Knight Defence Force Myinmu and Sagaing District Battalion 7, Company 3.
In Tanintharyi Region’s Kawthaung Township, revolutionary forces also attacked the Malewan Police Station and Infantry Battalion 582 base in Malewan village, resulting in the death of one military council officer and injuries to more than 10 personnel, according to an announcement from the Kawthaung Township People’s Defense Force. The attack was conducted around 2:30 AM on August 12, during which numerous buildings and bunkers were destroyed. Revolutionary forces personally witnessed military council soldiers sustaining gunshot wounds during the battle.
