Local residents reported that homes were destroyed in Kanpetlet town, Chin State, following airstrikes by the terrorist military. On August 17 at approximately 6:55 AM, a fighter jet that took off from the Naypyidaw air base conducted bombing raids on two locations in Kanpetlet town. While no civilians were injured in these airstrikes, multiple residential buildings sustained significant damage, according to local residents.
Similarly, in Kan Gyi village in northern Myaing Township, Magway Region, the terrorist military conducted unprovoked airstrikes despite there being no active fighting in the area, resulting in injuries to an 86-year-old elderly man. According to local sources, on the evening of August 16, a fighter jet from Tataoo (Bridge Head) conducted an airstrike on Kan Gyi village using two 500-pound bombs. During this aerial attack, an elderly man sustained injuries, and one house was severely damaged.
A local resident reported that around 7:15 PM, the fighter jet that departed from Tataoo circled once around the Kyauk Htu area before flying at low altitude to conduct the bombing raid. The attack resulted in injuries to the elderly man’s hand and caused substantial damage to a residential building. These deliberate attacks on civilian areas where no active fighting is taking place continue to result in civilian casualties and the destruction of homes and property, demonstrating a pattern of targeted violence against non-combatant populations.
